The day we've all been waiting for

OUR CELEBRATION

Join Black Lives Matter DC and Showing Up for Racial Justice DC for a night of celebration and storytelling. Enjoy libations and dinner with community while we share the stories of our movement over the past three years and create vision for the world we all need: a world where we keep one another safe and abundance is shared.

In a month and a moment where out-and-out white supremacists gather in our parks & our federal buildings, we need everyone to invest talent and resources in the movement for justice. Bring your friends and neighbors to help us build momentum to challenge white supremacy and contribute funds to the work that will get us all free. The doors to the movement are open! Will you join us?

OUR work

Over the past 3 years, Black Lives Matter DC has grown from an idea hashed out by a small group of relative strangers in the basement of MLK Library to a leaderful ecosystem of artists, activists, organizers and healers committed to liberation. They’ve shut down highways and built communities of love and support all in the name of Black Liberation. Over time, their core programming has expanded from monthly weeks of action to weekly Black only healing sessions, monthly coordinating meetings & open houses, leadership within the Movement for Black Lives DC Steering Committee, and regular multiracial gatherings.

SURJ DC is a chapter of Showing Up for Racial Justice (SURJ), a national network of groups and individuals organizing white people for racial justice. Through community organizing, mobilizing, and education, SURJ moves white people to act as part of a multi-racial majority for justice with passion and accountability. We work to connect people across the country while supporting and collaborating with local and national racial justice organizing efforts. SURJ provides a space to build relationships, skills and political analysis to act for change

We’re opening our doors to the cream of the crop next Thursday, and you’re invited.

You’re an amazing full stack developer, and we’re an amazing place to work. It’s time to take this conversation offline and finally meet up.

Join us next Thursday night for rooftop cocktails, canapés and conversations with senior leaders from the Coralient tech team – a fine group of 37 brilliant engineers bound by one mission: To change the world through democratic design.
